Do you set resolutions? Have your New Year’s resolutions fallen by the wayside? Were you hoping to give yourself a fresh start?
The good news is… whether it’s January or April you can start over anytime! And, with spring in the air, it’s the perfect time to simplify and make room for the new.
For the next three weeks, I’m going to share both my new and long-time tips for effortlessly getting things done and having more joy in your everyday life along the way.
Great ideas are important, but taking action is vital in the key to happiness and discovering joy through your everyday life.
This week, let’s jump right in with cleaning. HipHipHurray! No?
If you are anything like I am you LOVE having a clean and tidy home just about as much as you don’t want to do the dirty work!
It’s not that I’m against it. In fact, I rather enjoy a day of puttering, laundry and putting things in order. But, I simply don’t regularly have that kind of time.
The way it works in my home is; my place gets really clean and put together for a day or two… and then a week or ten days go by and it quickly turns into a free for all. Then, I’ll justify putting off something truly important because I just can’t stand the mess…I’ll buckle down to have a cleaning marathon, then another ten days passes until the mess overflows, and, on and on…
Not efficient, nor effective and it’s definitely time for a better system.
Coincidentally, I just came across my perfect solution last night. Or, at least, it seems very doable.
And, as most good ideas, it’s simple.
It’s a “Cleaning Calendar!!!”
Four days of simple chores and morning and evening tasks, one flex day and two free days. Even if you have a housekeeper, this simple list can easily integrate into your daily plan helping you keep your home a haven...

created by Bakerette.com
I started today, and feel a little giddy at the idea of keeping my environment together with so little effort.
Honestly, if I can just get a handle on my dirty dishes this experiment will be a victory. So, here it goes… Today I vacuumed, tomorrow I mop. Easy so far. I’m going to give it a go for 30 days and see how I do.
I hope you’ll join me? What do you think? 30 Days together? I’m throwing down the gauntlet... or, better, the dust mop!
I look forward to hearing from you, have a beautiful day and remember I am most definitely in your corner…
Love,
Thais
